Service Description

This two day provider course is for is for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children and for personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units What does this course teach? The PALS Provider Course aims to improve outcomes for pediatric patients by preparing healthcare providers to effectively recognize and intervene in patients with respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest by using high‐performance team dynamics and high‐quality individual skills. The course includes a series of case scenario practices with simulations that reinforce important concepts. Upon successful completion of all the patient cases, students must pass the multiple-choice exam with a minimum score of 84%. Topics include: After successfully completing this course, students will be able to -Perform high‐quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) per American Heart Association (AHA) basic life support (BLS) recommendations -Differentiate between patients who do and do not require immediate intervention -Recognize cardiopulmonary arrest early and begin CPR within 10 seconds -Apply team dynamics -Differentiate between respiratory distress and failure -Perform early interventions for respiratory distress and failure -Differentiate between compensated and decompensated (hypotensive) shock -Perform early interventions for the treatment of shock -Differentiate between unstable and stable patients with arrhythmias -Describe clinical characteristics of instability in patients with arrhythmias -Implement post–cardiac arrest management Learners will complete the pre-test and the pre-course work prior to reporting to class. The in person class covers a refresher of the course content learned while completing online modules, video presentations, and a skills practice/testing session. Basic Life Support recertification included.


Cancellation Policy

Pre-Course Assessment and Pre-Corse Work modules are sent out via email upon completion of booking. Modules are to be completed in full prior to your course date. Completion certificate issued through AHA eLearning must be sent to TMC prior to or at the time of your booking. Failure to do so may result in dismal from your booking without reimbursement of fees. A reschedule or cancellation within 24 hours is subject to a $25.00 fee due upon receipt. Same day reschedule or cancellation is subject non-reimbursement of booking fees. AHA course certification cards are sent via email by the American Heart Association within 7-10 business days of your booking. A request to expedite a course certification or produce a course completion letter results in a $25.00 charge due upon receipt. Course certification cards are sent to the email address you completed your booking with. Any request to change an email or resend a course completion card results in a $25.00 charge due upon receipt. AHA course certification cards are valid for two years from the issuing date. Replacement or reproduction of a lost card or certification results in a $25.00 charge due upon receipt. Tactical Medical Consultants and its Instructors are proud to facilitate American Heart Association Courses in accordance with the guidelines it sets forth.
